Our Governance and Leadership
The Royal College of Pharmacy is a charitable body incorporated under Royal Charter (A charity registered in England and Wales (1217916), and Scotland (applied for)). We exist to advance the safe and effective use of medicines, drive excellence in patient care and support pharmacists to deliver the highest standard of practice.
Our structure brings together professional leadership, national insight and organisational expertise to ensure pharmacy remains at the forefront of patient care. Through collaboration across our Board of Trustees, Senate, councils and advisory groups, along with our Executive team and directors, we influence policy, develop standards and support excellence across pharmacy.
Pharmaceutical Press (PhP), the knowledge business and wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal College of Pharmacy, shares a foundational commitment with the College to advance the safe and effective use of medicines, ensuring health professionals globally have quick and easy access to independent, evidence-based pharmaceutical knowledge.

We support the organisation to achieve its goals by provide people, technology, facilities and financial services.
The organisation has recently gone through a significant change, moving from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society to the Royal College of Pharmacy (RCPharm), a registered charity with trading subsidiaries.
Consequently, a key focus for the Finance department and this role, will be to strengthen the new charity’s financial control environment, implement new charitable requirements, and in partnership with senior stakeholders, to transform financial processes
The Role Profile:
You will ensure our content is precise and presented in the best possible way to our readers. You will have experience of different multimedia formats and help to bring these to life. You will write punchy headlines and interesting captions. You will insist on proper grammar, correct spelling and catch any typos. You will sharpen language and cut clichés. You will have exemplary proofreading skills. Working with the other members of the production team, you will strive to improve how our content is discovered and experienced on our website.
Main Accountabilities:
Subedit news and expert commentary to ensure it reads well and adheres to house style;
Subedit scientific and clinical copy to ensure content is free of errors;
Fact check sources and identify statements at risk of libel;
Write headlines and standfirsts that get to the crux of a story and lure the reader in;
Research pictures and write picture captions;
Add value with multimedia content, including videos and podcasts;
Liaise with reporters, expert authors and editors;
Employ keywords for SEO;
Tag content for semantic enrichment;
Create newsletters and ensure these are sent out on time;
Proofread articles and ensure a final check is carried out on each piece of content;
Ensure smooth flow of article through production;
Ensure the best possible presentation of content online.
